This topic explains how to create Integration Credentials which you can then use to connect your native Xero Integration Configurations with your Xero system. See Configuring Xero Integrations.
To create Xero integration Credentials:
1. Select Integrations>Credentials. The Credentials page opens and any existing Credentials are listed.
2. Select Create Integration Credential. The Create page opens at Stage 1: Name the credential.
3. Enter a name in the Name credential panel.
4. Select Next. The page adjusts to show Stage 1 as checked-off and completed and shifts focus to Stage 2: Select entity type.
5. On the Entity Type Settings panel, use the drop-down to select the type of entity:
For example, if the native Integration Configuration you've set up is for sending Bills to Xero and you want to use this Credential to authenticate the integration, select Bill.
Note: Currently, only Bill is available for selection.
6. Select Next. The page adjusts to show Stage 2 as checked-off and completed and shifts focus to Stage 3: Select destination.
7. On the Destination Settings panel, use the drop-down to select Xero.
8. Select Next. The page adjusts to show Stage 3 as checked-off and completed and shifts focus to Stage 4: Authenticate.
An information panel shows advising that you'll need to provide authentication details on the Xero website.
9. Select Go to Xero. You are redirected to the Log in to Xero page:
10. Log into your Xero Account.
Important! Ensure that the Xero org you are logged into to is the one you need to create the Credential for and which you'll use to connect your integration to Xero.
11. Grant access to your Xero organisation for the m3ter integration Credential:
If you have multiple Xero organisations set up, select the one you want the m3ter integration Credential to access and then select Continue:
If you have a single Xero organisation set up, select Allow access for the m3ter integration Credential:
You are redirected back to m3ter.
12. Select Create Credential. You are returned to the Credentials page where the new Xero Credential is listed:
The Credential is now available for connecting your Integration Configuration with Xero. See Configuring Xero Integrations>Setting Up Authentication for the Integration.
Warning: Authentication with Xero not completed! If you fail to complete authentication with your Xero instance promptly, a time-to-live (TTL) of ten minutes is imposed after which the Credential is removed and you'll have to start again. If you return to the Credentials page within that TTL, any Credentials waiting for authentication completion will have a suffix of "Incomplete" attached, such as: Xero Credential 1 (Incomplete).
